Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use our website or buy goods or services from B&M Business Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). Please read them before placing an order. By accepting a quote or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

B&M Business Solutions Ltd supplies car engines, used engines and reconditioned engines to customers across Greater London and the Home Counties. Our contact details are on our Contact page.

2. Our Services

We offer:

  • Car engines, used engines and reconditioned engines
  • Supply and fit, where we arrange the removal of your damaged engine and the fitting of the replacement
  • Supply only, where we provide the engine for you or your own garage to fit
  • Vehicle collection, where we can arrange to collect a vehicle that is not driveable

Availability varies by vehicle and can change. A quote does not reserve an engine until you have accepted it and we have confirmed your order.

3. Who These Terms Apply To

These terms apply to everyone who orders from us, but different parts apply depending on how you are buying:

  • Consumers: buying for personal use, benefit from the statutory rights set out in section 11, in addition to everything else in these terms.
  • Businesses: including garages and trade customers, are bound by these terms as a commercial contract. Sections that refer specifically to consumer rights do not apply to business orders, but the warranty in section 10 applies equally to both.

If you are ordering on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to do so and that the business accepts these terms.

4. Quotes and Pricing

Engine prices depend on the make, model, engine type, mileage or work involved, and whether you need supply only or supply and fit. We quote for your specific vehicle.

Quotes are free and carry no obligation to proceed.

Each quote states what is included. Any additional work, parts or charges will be agreed with you before they are carried out.

Prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Where VAT applies, your quote will make clear whether the price includes it.

Trade and garage customers with an ongoing account may be quoted on different pricing or payment terms, agreed separately in writing.

5. Vehicle Information and Compatibility

Choosing the correct engine depends on accurate information. Please give us your registration number, engine code, VIN, or make, model, year and engine size as requested. We use this to confirm compatibility before your order is placed.

If the details you give us are incorrect or incomplete, the engine supplied may not fit. In that case we cannot be responsible for costs arising from that inaccuracy, although we will work with you to resolve it. We will always tell you if we spot a discrepancy.

6. Condition and Mileage

  • Used engines: we disclose the condition of the engine and its mileage as part of your quote. If mileage cannot be verified for a particular unit, we will tell you.
  • Reconditioned engines: worn or faulty parts are replaced as needed. Every part replaced is itemised on your invoice.

7. Orders and Payment

A contract is formed when we confirm your order in writing, or by phone with written follow-up.

Payment terms, including any deposit, are confirmed in your quote before you commit.

We may pause or refuse an order if we cannot obtain the correct engine, and we will tell you promptly and refund any payment already made for it.

8. Timescales

Our typical job completion time for a reconditioned engine is 12 to 14 working days from the point your vehicle or engine is booked in. This is an estimate and can vary depending on the make, model and extent of the work. For used and car engines, we confirm timing in your quote. We will keep you informed if a delay is likely.

9. Collection, Delivery and Fitting

If your vehicle is not driveable, we can arrange collection. Details and any charges are confirmed in your quote.

Where delivery applies, we will agree the delivery details with you in advance.

Engines supplied on a supply only basis are fitted by you or your chosen garage. We are not responsible for the quality of fitting carried out by third parties.

Please tell us about any known issues with your vehicle beyond the engine that could affect the work.

10. Warranty

Reconditioned engines are covered by a warranty of 6 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

  • Any part replaced as part of the repair is covered.
  • If a replaced part develops a fault during the warranty period and that part is listed on your invoice, it will be replaced free of charge.
  • To make a claim, contact us as soon as you notice a problem and keep your invoice, as it records which parts are covered.

This warranty applies equally to consumer and business (garage or trade) customers.

Warranty terms for used engines and other car engines are confirmed in your quote before you buy.

The warranty does not affect your statutory rights (see section 11, for consumers). It does not usually cover faults caused by misuse, accidents, neglect, lack of servicing, overheating or low oil after supply, incorrect fitting by a third party, or modification. Where a fault of this kind is suspected, we will explain our reasoning.

11. Your Consumer Rights

If you are buying as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

You may also have a right to cancel certain distance or off-premises contracts within 14 days. This right may not apply to goods made to your specification or services already completed with your agreement. We will explain how cancellation applies to your order if you ask.

If you are buying as a business, your statutory consumer rights do not apply, but your warranty terms above do.

12. Cancellation and Changes

Please tell us as soon as possible if you want to cancel or change an order. Once work on a reconditioned engine has started, or a specific engine has been sourced or set aside for you, we may need to recover reasonable costs already incurred. We will explain any charge before you confirm the cancellation.

13. Our Responsibility to You

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our failing to follow these terms or the law. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of use of a vehicle, or indirect loss, except where the law says otherwise. Our total liability for any single order will not exceed the price you paid for it, except where the law says otherwise.

14. Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as supplier shortages, transport disruption, extreme weather or industrial action. We will tell you promptly and do what we reasonably can to limit the impact.

18. General
